Backpacks ready! For the return to classes, free distribution in Brentwood

The Senator of the State of New York, Mónica R. Martínez, and community partners join to carry out her traditional distribution of school supplies in the town of Brentwood, in Long Island.

This Saturday, August 16, Senator Martínez in collaboration with the League of Justice Lawyers, holds the expected free delivery event of backpacks and school supplies for the return to children’s classes. The activity goes from 10 am to 1 PM, in the parking lot of St. Anne’s Knights of Columbus, which is located in 94 Second Avenue, in Brentwood, NY 11717.

In addition to receiving free schoolpacks and school supplies, the event will also have free barber services for children, children’s activities, painting, food, sweets, music and much more!

This annual community “Back To School” initiative, organized with the law of justice lawyers since 2015, is open to all school age students in the fourth senatorial district.

This distribution of school supplies helps children and young people have the necessary tools for a successful start of next year at school. It should be noted that during the event last year, more than 1,500 students were benefited. This community initiative reflects the commitment of Senator Martínez with education and its support for local families.

And for families that for some reason cannot attend the “distribution of backpacks” in Brentwood, Senator Mónica R. Martínez will also be the host of the third “community barbecue” to celebrate the end of summer next Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 1 to 3 pm. In Hermann Griem park, located at Wheatley Heights.

In addition, to offer delicious fast food, there will be good music, sugar cotton, painting, free hair cut for children and much more!
