An unforgettable Latin night on Broadway: “Real Women have curves” shines with stars

On the night of April 22, New York illuminated with the power and elegance of a group of iconic Latin women, who gathered to celebrate the new production of Real Women Have Curves: The Musical. Eva Longoria, Sofía Vergara, Roselyn Sánchez, Ana Navarro, Gloria Estefan and many more attended the show in the James Earl Jones Theater, and joined the cast on stage during the final ovation, filling the room of emotion and pride.

The work, based on the theatrical piece by Josefina López that also inspired the HBO film, is an empowering celebration of culture, identity and dreams. With humor and heart, the musical follows the story of Ana García, a young woman from East of Los Angeles with great ambitions, who must balance her dreams with family responsibilities and cultural expectations.

Starring Tatianna Córdoba in her Broadway debut, and with Justina Machado playing her mother Carmen, the production stands out for her diverse and talented cast. The direction and choreography are in charge of the winter Sergio Trujillo, while the original music was created by Joy Huerta (of the Jesse & Joy duo) and Benjamin Velez.

The night closed with an intimate and powerful conversation between two legends: Gloria Estefan and Joy Huerta, moderated by Alicia Menendez.
