Pregones/PRTT celebrates Puerto Rican voices with Leave a Message After…THE BEEP
October 15 – November 22, 2026

Hispanic Heritage Month comes to a close in New York with Leave a Message After…THE BEEP, a musical theater production that celebrates Puerto Rican and Nuyorican identity through poetry, music, humor and Spanglish. Under the adaptation and direction of Rosalba Rolón, artistic director of Pregones/PRTT, and with compositions and musical direction by Desmar Guevara, the production brings together texts by prominent Puerto Rican writers from the island and New York. This new performance celebrates the 20th anniversary of THE BEEP and incorporates new voices in collaboration with the Museum of Contemporary Art of Puerto Rico. The performances will be in English and Spanish, with supertitles, and the work is recommended for ages 12 and up.

Rock the Bronx brings together two Puerto Rican bands in the Bronx
October 24, 2026
7:00 PM

Puerto Rican rock will take over the Bronx Music Hall on Saturday, October 24 with Rock the Bronx, a concert that brings together two bands led by Puerto Rican musicians: The UNBROK3N and Taino. Although the Bronx is known as the birthplace of hip-hop and the county of salsa, this performance highlights the history of rock in the borough with a night of powerful guitars, Latin rhythms and musical energy.

Punk trio The UNBROK3N combine intense riffs, hard-hitting bass and drums in songs about heartbreak, resilience and victory. For his part, Taino fuses Latin and Afro-Cuban rhythms with rock, funk, soul and improvisation guitars, creating a proposal that connects different musical traditions. The event promises a sample of the diversity of Latin rock in New York.
