Brentwood’s top high school students from the Class of 2026 were recently honored at a special luncheon attended by members of the Long Island school district’s administration, as well as their family and friends, who beamed with pride.
Among those honored were Melanie Ruiz, the valedictorian of the Ross Center; Alexa Chaparro, student with the second highest academic average (“salutatorian”) at the Ross Center; Luis Romero, the best student with the highest academic average (“valedictorian”) of the Sonderling Center; and Mauricio Meza, student with the second best academic average (“salutatorian”) at the Sonderling Center.
Held in a warm and festive atmosphere at Brentwood High School, the meeting recognized the dedication, resilience and academic excellence that propelled these students to reach the top positions of their generation.
Throughout the afternoon, students spoke with district leaders, board members, and loved ones who have supported them throughout their educational journey.
The luncheon served not only to celebrate their academic achievements, but also as a reminder of the bright future that awaits top students in Brentwood, NY.
