Olympic legend Kerri Walsh Jennings to teach beach volleyball clinics on Long Island

Three-time Olympic beach volleyball gold medalist Kerri Walsh Jennings will teach youth and adult clinics on April 11 at North Beach LI, an indoor sand volleyball facility in Mount Sinai, New York.

Titled “Way of the Athlete,” both clinics will feature Jennings and his team of coaches, who will offer hands-on demonstrations and personalized instruction on key beach volleyball skills, while empowering athletes to strengthen their mindset, confidence and resilience.

The clinic for youth, boys and girls ages 11 to 18, is scheduled for the morning, while the clinic for adults will be in the afternoon.

All proceeds from “Way of the Athlete” will go to the p1440 Foundation, a nonprofit organization co-founded by Jennings, whose name is inspired by the idea of making the most of the 1,440 minutes in a day.

The goal of p1440 is to unite and build communities around beach volleyball, introducing the sport to youth from disadvantaged communities and offering programs to identify, develop and train young players.

“Way of the Athlete is more than volleyball – it’s about building strong, confident people through movement, mindfulness and connection,” Jennings said.

“Bringing this experience to North Beach is incredibly special, and I am excited to share the tools that have shaped my journey with the next generation of athletes.”

The p1440 Foundation held its first “Way of the Athlete” volleyball clinic on Long Island last summer. The event was part of a two-day beach volleyball celebration, called “Hampton Volley,” at Kirk Park Beach in Montauk, NY, which also included a charity professional-amateur volleyball tournament featuring top players from well-known volleyball organizations, local lifeguards and community members.

“Kerri Walsh Jennings’ accomplishments, skill and determination have already made her a role model and icon in the volleyball world,” said Keith Burt, co-owner of North Beach LI.

“Their past and future visits demonstrate their commitment to growing the sport in a new region and will be invaluable to any volleyball fan looking to improve their game.”
