35 restaurants in Nassau receive fines for serious health infractions

The Food Protection Program of the Nassau Health Department detected that 126 restaurants of this Long Island county violated some health standard since March 10. Of these restaurants, 35 received fines for serious infractions and 7 were identified with multiple serious infractions.

A severe infraction is one that is most likely to cause diseases transmitted by food than other infractions.

Examples of severe health infractions include inappropriate food storage, inadequate cooking or storage temperatures, inappropriate contact with prepared foods, use of poor condition in poor condition and a high risk of cross contamination.

– The Brookville Country Club restaurantlocated in 210 Chickn Valley Road, Old Brookville, registered 3 serious health infractions. The infractions included inappropriate storage temperatures for refrigerated foods, food workers who did not use adequate utensils to serve and inappropriate storage of toxic chemical substances, which increases the probability of cross contamination.

– Chinese Hing Long Restaurant: 40 Central Court, Valley Stream, registered 2 critical health infractions. The infractions included inappropriate storage time for refrigerated foods and the use of foods of origin not authorized or potentially in poor condition.

– Japanese Mikado Restaurant: 355 Merrick Road, Lynbrook: The Japanese Mikado restaurant registered 2 critical health infractions. The infractions included inappropriate storage time for refrigerated foods and inaccurate or non -existent thermostats to assess food temperatures during cooking or storage.

– BAGEL GOURMET: 151 Maint Street, East Rockaway, registered 2 critical health infractions. These infractions included inappropriate storage of toxic chemicals, which increases the probability of cross contamination, and the use of not authorized cooling methods to reach the appropriate temperature in potentially dangerous foods.

– Rallye BMW Florian Food Service: 1 Brush Road, Westbury, registered 2 critical health infractions. Infractions included not maintaining potentially dangerous food at a temperature equal to or greater than 140 degrees while they were hot and inappropriate storage of toxic chemicals, which increased the probability of cross contamination.

– Mateo’s Cantinalocated in 1929 Wantagh Avenue, Wantagh, presented 2 critical health infractions. These infractions included the lack of cooling adequate for all potentially dangerous foods and the use of inaccurate or non -existent thermostats to assess the temperature of the food during cooking or storage.

– Happy Garden 79located at 79 South Street, Oyster Bay, presented 2 critical health infractions. These infractions included the inappropriate storage time of refrigerated foods and the use of cooling methods not approved to reach the appropriate temperature in potentially dangerous foods.
